Our Story

When Tony and Loretta Lindahl found out their son was diagnosed with Autism, they began a journey into the unknown. Quickly learning that this path was largely one they would have to figure out themselves, they perserved and fought for their son to get the services he deserved. Years later, a passion planted by their experience began to grow into a dream to help other families in this underserved area of need.

They founded Captain’s Place to be a supportive resource for families—with a focus on fathers—who often feel lost when navigating fatherhood after a child is diagnosed with autism.

When that diagnosis comes, many fathers are left wondering how to connect, lead, and parent in ways that feel unfamiliar, as the dreams they once held begin to change.

Captain’s Place exists to help dads and families find direction, purpose, and hope as they learn to parent their child with confidence and love.

With divorce rate being many times higher for couples who have a child diagnosed with Autism, we chose to focus on the causes and solutions to helping them stay united while navigating the world of Autism.
